Just A Few Minutes Stroll Away
Trinity College Dublin is Dublin's most centrally located and arguably most famous university. Founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I, this compact college is a calming balm to the hustle and bustle of Dublin city, despite being right in the centre of the city. The architecture of the college is a delight, from the gothic style front Square buildings and the impressive Campanile it remains a must see site for any visitors to Dublin. The stunning Long Room Library on campus houses one of Dublin's most visited attractions- the Book of Kells. Located in the heart of Dublin City, a walk through the cobbled stones of Trinity College Dublin will bring visitors back to the 18th century, when the magnificent Old Library building was constructed and which displays the Book of Kells. The Book of Kells is Ireland's greatest cultural treasure and the world's most famous medieval manuscript. The 9th century book is a richly decorated copy of the four Gospels of the life of Jesus Christ. Campus tours are provided by Authencity Tours all year round, tickets include a tour and a combination ticket including entry to the book of kells can be purchased. There is a new Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin, which features a range of exhibitions and events throughout the year.
